THE INVENTORY SPECIALIST WILL…

Report to the Director of Warehousing & Distribution and play a key role in overseeing and managing all aspects of inventory management, including inventory accuracy and reconciliation for SAXX globally. The Inventory Specialist will be responsible for developing and implementing inventory control policies and procedures working closely with various departments, including Planning, Finance and Logistics teams to maintain accurate inventory records and drive continuous improvement initiatives.

This is a hands-on position which will require the application of strategic thinking and the execution of day-to-day operations. We work in a fast-paced environment, rolling up our sleeves to build something bigger than ourselves. You must be comfortable working within a small and dynamic team, be able to communicate effectively, juggle multiple priorities, proactively solve problems, identify, and communicate risk, and deliver against deadlines. More importantly, you need to be able to integrate fun as a way of being and working, aka don’t take yourself too seriously.


RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Develop and implement inventory control policies and procedures and analyze inventory data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement with recommendations to management
  • Oversee regular inventory counts and reconciliations to maintain accuracy across 3PL warehouses and ecommerce marketplaces such as Amazon
  • Ensure compliance of warehouse and inventory processes and procedures in the 3PL warehouses and marketplace distribution centers
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to inventory management and report on performance; inclusive of reporting on, and track action against aged inventory build-up across all stock locations (3PL and Amazon) and submit inventory write off recommendations for approval and execution
  • Reconcile inventory gaps between the different systems and make the necessary inventory adjustments in the system to ensure accurate inventory
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies, conduct root cause analysis, and provide explanations and corrective actions to inventory variances partnering with internal (Logistic, Ecommerce, Finance, IT and Planning) and external (3PLs and Amazon) stakeholders to resolve issues
  • Support and coordinate with the Finance team during the month-end inventory reconciliation process to ensure the accuracy of the financial data and ensure the timely closure of month end reporting
  • Work closely with the Planning team to execute of inventory transfers within D365 between 3PL’s (same entity or intercompany) to rebalance inventory
  • Support the Planning team, under their direction, to enter and maintain pre-season transfer orders, upload purchase orders and manage and release inventory back to ATS (available to sell) for Amazon FBA
  • Other duties may arise from time to time and as a team, we look to support each other

 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in inventory control, warehousing, manufacturing and/or supply chain experience
  • Degree or Diploma in business administration, finance, or a related field
  • Experience managing and reconciling inventory across multiple sites and warehouses is considered an asset
  • Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, practices, and techniques
  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively source information, obtain approvals, build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide sufficient influence to achieve success
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced ever-changing environment; works well under pressure and results oriented
  • Critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills; proactive nature and willingness to challenge existing processes and propose new solutions
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and a commitment to excellence in customer service
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in commonly used software such as Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). Experience in using Microsoft Dynamics 365 considered an asset

The anticipated annual salary range for this position is $68,000-75,000. The final aligned upon salary will be dependent on the successful candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and job-related knowledge.
